Why is a diet high in vegetables and low in fats recommended for diabetics? - high carb vegetables
I just heard an ad on the radio and eat more vegetables and less meat, or meat leaner. I understand that vegetables are important, but why do you want to eat more carbohydrates for diabetics? It seems backwards! Fats are also good sources of energy, without carbohydrates. The only reason I can not imagine that they would recommend it, because most people with diabetes are overweight and trying to lose people, weight, instead of lowering their blood sugar. But do not suggest why, at low speeds, rich in carbohydrates, protein for diabetics?
